Meet Kristin from Root Tend Flourish

Here at Root Tend Flourish (RTF) I dive deep into all things that make up a gardening life: I teach solid design concepts and principles so your garden actually looks like what’s in your mind’s eye, I go over practical techniques and methods I’ve used for the last 20+ years, and I share how to incorporate all that garden beauty and bounty into your everyday life.

Gardens and outdoor spaces are for living and enjoying; they are for beauty and for the use of those who call them home, whether that be a curious child, a busy adult, or even local wildlife building their home. I’d love to help you learn ways to incorporate beauty and function in your garden and then inspire you in how to bring the fruits of that labor into your home.

When I’m not out in the garden or in the design studio, I can be found homeschooling my three children, baking and cooking, reading all the books, or exploring new hiking spots with my husband Mike and our kids.

About Taking Root Garden Design

Creating beautiful spaces that blend the needs of people and nature is the driving force behind my approach to design. Over the last 20+ years, I’ve worked in many areas of landscape design and horticulture, from greenhouses to field work to the design studio.

I received my M. A. in Sustainable Landscape Planning and Design from the Conway School of Landscape Design and my B.S. from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Vermont.

I’ve been privileged to design and manage landscapes throughout New England and Middle Tennessee through my garden design business Taking Root Garden Design. To learn more about my local and virtual design and consultation services, visit www.takingrootdesign.com
